Attending your first FORUM/Boston conference can be intimidating. Hundreds of schools. Even more candidates, many of whom are veteran educators. Back-to-back interviews. Did we mention the interviews?

You can relax, though, because we’ve got you covered! From informational panels that will increase your job-seeker IQ to a dedicated CS&A staff member you can go to for anything related to being an upcoming or recent graduate on the hunt for your first teaching position, you can make the most of your time here at the event.

New and Recent Grad Meet & Greet
7:30-8:30 PM in CS&A's CoLAB (the Staffordshire Room) at The Westin Copley Square

Getting anxious about FORUM/Boston? Come network the nerves away with other new and recent graduates at our pre-conference meet and greet! Hosted by our Director for New Graduate Programs, this event is a great way to get your questions answered, meet other new educators, familiarize yourself with the conference space, and just have fun before a busy event. Food and beverages will also be provided.

The Ins and Outs of Internships
2:00-2:45 PM in the CoLAB

This panel will discuss the benefits and responsibilities regarding teaching internships and fellowships at independent schools. Hosted by Ricky Lapidus (Riverdale Country School), Josh Pretzer (Culver Academies), and Bart Griffith (Gilman School) who work closely with interns and fellows at their current schools, this panel will share what schools are looking for in their fellows, why these positions are a great first step in your career, and will serve as a forum for any questions you may have about these opportunities.

Life After Fellow: A Q&A with Former and Current Fellows
10:00-10:30 AM in the CoLAB

This panel will give you an in depth look at what it’s like to be a fellow or intern in an independent school. Hosted by former and current fellows, this will be a great opportunity to gain interesting perspective straight from the source and get your questions answered from job seekers who were once in your shoes.

Our Director of New Graduate Programs, Sloane Meyer, will be available for check-ins, questions, and help in the CoLAB on Friday from 9:00-10:30 AM and 1:30-3:00 PM, and then again on Saturday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM.
