Placement or Retained Search?

At Carney, Sandoe & Associates, we do the hard work of finding the right candidates for you.

If you’re interested in finding the best candidates to fill a position at your school, you can work with either our Placement Group or our Search Group. (Or, you can work with both!)

The CS&A Search Group

Our Search Group works on a “retained search” basis in which an organization hires our Search team to proactively recruit a specific candidate pool for a specific job. These positions encompass Head of School and key administrative roles at educational organizations including Division Heads, Advancement Directors, financial leaders (CFO), Admission Directors, College Counselors, and others. The engagements can vary in length and include several visits to the school by a team of our search consultants. To see a list of our current retained search opportunities, click here.

The CS&A Placement Group

Our Placement Group operates on a contingency basis, as opposed to a retained basis (“contingency” meaning that client schools only pay a fee to CS&A when they hire a candidate through our Placement Group). With our Placement service, schools typically look to fill their teaching and coaching positions, although we also work on some administrative openings in Placement as well. In Placement, we divide our team by subject area to better serve our clients.

For jobs listed with the Placement Group, candidates must first fill out our online application and be accepted into our candidate pool. Jobs listed with our Placement Group are not posted publicly on our website.
