What are the qualifications?
More and more independent schools are building out their DEI staff, and we encourage you to apply for candidacy if your qualifications include:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field (social science, psychology, African diaspora history, education, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership in the area of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
- Experience with children, particularly in an independent, private, boarding, college preparatory, or similar K-12 school setting
- Strong references that convey your abilities, connection with students, and mastery of DEI programming, policy, and initiatives
- A willingness to contribute the hiring school's community outside of the classroom, such as coaching sports, advising extracurricular activities, supervising a dorm, etc.
