Devereaux McClatchey
For the last 20+ years, Devereaux has served as both the President of Carney, Sandoe & Associates and also as a senior search consultant. He has worked on leadership searches all over the country, and he has consulted for schools on a wide range of topics, including long-range strategic planning, governance, and succession planning.
Previous Experience
Prior to his current position as President, Devereaux served for four years as Vice President and COO at Carney, Sandoe & Associates. Before CS&A, he held a variety of positions in education, business, and law. He worked as a high school teacher at the Boston Latin School, and he taught for several summers at Philips Academy (MA). He also practiced law as an attorney with the firm of Womble, Carlyle (GA).
Education & Interests
Growing up in Atlanta, Devereaux attended The Westminster Schools (K-12), and then Duke University, graduating with a B.A. in history. He also received a J.D. from the University of Georgia Law School, as well as a masters of theological studies (MTS) from the Divinity School at Harvard University. He pursued additional study at the Universidad de law Empresa in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Breadloaf School of English at Middlebury.
He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and sits on several non-profit boards, each within the education sector. Formerly he served on the boards of the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Education (CSEE) and the MATCH Graduate School of Education.
Devereaux enjoys coaching youth sports and chasing his three children around as much as his shredded hamstrings will allow. His wife is a psychologist and a beautiful writer.
