Previous Experience
Kent's most recent leadership role saw him stepping in as the Transitional President at Garces Memorial High School (CA) from 2022 to 2023, where he was pivotal in the school’s shift from a principal-only model to a president-principal governance model. As Transitional President, he led extensive system overhauls, improved fundraising and admissions, grew enrollment, and amplified the school’s focus on cultural diversity.
Prior to this, Kent served as President/Director of the Work at Seattle Preparatory School (WA) from 2007 to 2021, where he significantly increased enrollment, enhanced learning and pastoral programs, and spearheaded three capital campaigns. Before his tenure at Seattle Prep, Kent served as Principal/Head of School at Bishop Blanchet High School (WA) from 1999 to 2007. At Blanchet he championed academic excellence and curriculum improvements, oversaw successful capital campaigns, grew enrollment, and elevated the school's image and perception in the community.
Kent's earlier educational leadership roles spanned a variety of positions at Marquette University High School (WI). His contributions ranged from serving as the Assistant Principal for Academics, to a Theology teacher, Pastoral Director, and coach. Before fully transitioning into the education sector, Kent practiced law as a Staff Attorney at UAW Legal Services (WI), where he specialized in estate planning, probate, real estate, and bankruptcy.
Beyond his administrative roles, Kent has consistently been engaged in creative activities and services, such as authoring a book of Scripture-based reflections, volunteering in historical interpretations, conducting retreats, and giving talks on various educational topics. His commitment to the community is evident in his board services and mentoring activities, providing guidance to new school principals and supporting various charitable foundations.
