Mark Davis
Mark is a Senior Consultant for leadership searches. He is also a Coach in our Coaching Practice.
Previous Experience
During Mark’s exceptional independent school career, he served in a wide variety of impactful leadership positions, including Head of School at St. Luke's School (CT), a position he held for two decades. During his leadership, Mark led vision and strategic planning processes, increased enrollment significantly, launched a transformational leadership center, stewarded forward-thinking uses of technology to enhance student learning, mentored and developed many leaders and aspiring leaders, and inspired his faculty and school culture with a leadership style characterized by integrity and humility.
Prior to St. Luke’s, Mark served as Director of College Counseling at Phillips Exeter Academy (NH) and The Taft School (CT), the latter of which also included a 14-year teaching career in classical and American history, government, and art, as well as serving as Assistant Director of Admissions, dean, and dormitory head.
In addition to chairing NEASC visiting committees, Mark has been a leader in numerous professional and independent school associations, including serving as a trustee of NAIS, the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, REACH Prep, and Long Ridge School (CT), and memberships in the Heads and Principals Association, Heads Collegiate Forum, INDEX, and The College Board.
Education & Interests
Before earning an M.A.L.S from Wesleyan University, Mark graduated from Loomis-Chaffee School and Yale University (Cum Laude), where he was a four-year baseball letterman, an Academic All-America nominee, and MVP.
